Description:
Java animations that demonstrate the motion of a variety of mechanisms. I have chosen to feature the Geneva Escapement, but you can navigate within the site to a collection of other devices.

Brief critique:
The animations require a Java enabled browser. To me, this is a very good example of well designed animation. The animation is clean, simple, fast-loading and easy on the eyes. It performed a useful function in that it gave me an instant understanding of something that was hard to visualise from a static drawing.
